Marching to the Beat of Your Own Drummer

Marching to the Beat of Your Own Drummer

This may sound like a post for Coven House Creative, but we aren’t talking about literal drumming here. Though ironically, or not, drummers do tend to march to their own beat. Perhaps it comes with the territory, but all the drummers I personally know have their own thing going on. Maybe taking up drumming as a hobby could unlock something for the rest of us. Who knows. It’s worth a try. But I digress. Authenticity. That’s what the topic is. How can we be ourselves and march to our own rhythms, without encroaching upon others? It seems impossible for everyone to do what they want to do without chaos and madness ensuing.

On the one hand this is true. When ego energies run high, and wants and desires are only self-serving, then it is impossible for everyone to do what they want without hurting others. The very concept of ego based ideologies is that there is only enough to go around. Therefore, if I have more, then you must have less. If I take up more space, then you will have less. So this sets us up for a survival of the fittest, dog eat dog, mentality. In this system, if I do what I want, then you can’t do what you want.

If you are the kind of person who has succumbed to having less, you are likely feeling disempowered and holding back your energy quite a bit. This backed up energy can manifest as anxiety, depression, angry outbursts, and other emotional issues. Pent up personal power if not expressed, will eventually lead to physical manifestations of imbalance as well. Those that have over extended their will to ensure that they get what they need often have racked up quite a bit of negative karma, shame, and/or guilt from treating people poorly in the process. The side effects of living out of fear begin to take a toll on their emotional and physical bodies as well.

Those who hurt others to get ahead are actually acting from a place of lack and fear. Those who do not assert themselves because they don’t want to have to hurt others, are also acting out of lack and fear. Though the ones who seem to have it all appear to better off, they aren’t. The good news is just like any other reality that people participate in, this one is mentally created. Therefore it can be uncreated for you and a new experience installed instead. Of course, it’s easier said than done. There will be some childhood wounds that will need to be addressed, but in general, all that is required is a cognitive perspective shift.

Alignment is Harmony

The secret to living your life on your terms is alignment. Alignment with who you were designed to be by your creator. This higher intelligence that created you and all things, has perfectly calculated who you are and how you fit into the world. If and when you are in alignment with your most authentic self, and your most authentic desires, you cannot help but be in harmony with the greater good of all.

Let me say that again. If the higher intelligence that created all things created you and your desires, then it is logical that when you are in alignment with the pure essence of who you are, you will naturally be in harmony with all of creation. Yes, this will require that you figure out who you are, and what your true desires are. That’s the whole entire journey. The closer you get, the more you realize that what you want and who you are is of the most benefit that you can offer the world. When you align to who you really are, your will aligns with God’s will. Your will becomes harmonious. What you want, becomes what the world needs. How cool is that?
